I wandered through Sakaemachi Market, an old shopping district in central Naha.
The aging buildings were not frozen in time. They were alive, still used and adapted in everyday life. Locals shopped, chatted, and moved through the space as they always had. At the same time, tourists walked quietly among them. It was this quiet mix of old and new, and of residents and visitors, that gave the place its charm.
The GR III captured the contrast between the traditional market setting and the vibrant rhythms of daily life with clarity and ease. ■
