The debut of the GR IV (Street Snap #34 Shinjuku Station Construction, GR IV debut) happened under cloudy skies. I wanted to capture Shinjuku on a clear day, and fortunately the very next morning was bright and sunny.
I hurried back to Shinjuku with the GR IV in hand and photographed many of the same spots as the day before. The difference was striking, and I was reminded how well the GR IV renders light and shadow.
While shooting on cloudy or rainy days has its own charm, photographing Shinjuku under clear skies proved to be the perfect way to draw out the full potential of the GR IV. ■
