In Shinjuku, I focused on the contrast between the calm pace of daytime and the chaotic energy that emerges at night. I also stopped by a peaceful park tucked between the skyscrapers of Nishi-Shinjuku—a quiet space in stark contrast to the city’s usual frenzy.

Further away, in Nagoya, I snapped scenes from the train window during the journey, along with shots around Nagoya Station. The city’s scale, its flow of people, and its distinctly different tempo from Tokyo all left an impression on me.

Though all part of Japan, each city breathes differently. Their subtle shifts in atmosphere and speed invite closer observation. In this second installment, I tried to document those hidden layers—the alternate faces of familiar places—revealed when you shift your gaze just slightly. ■
